So delighted to take First place in the Small Towns category of your inaugural Americana Photo Contest! How astute of your judges and what good taste you have! Happy to see I got a nomination for the roadside attractions award with the Cadillac Ranch in its original state. I'll go back and rethink the originals, as one I have shows "Love" written on the trunk hood but the cows are not so well placed as here. It's all a learning process! Laura Jean Zito, Ireland

It's a big surprise for me to know that I'm so lucky to be among the winners of the first Americana Photo Awards. It reminds me of my time working in the United States as a Chinese journalist. I had the privilege to frequently visit the Times Square in New York City as our office is located just there and had the chance to capture some very interesting and cozy moments with my camera. I sincerely thank all the judges and the staff of the contest for their hard work. Yuan Zhang, Beijing, China

Abstract. 2nd Place - While on a solo cross country motorcycle trip and after turning back from a mountain pass because of ice, I was ending the day on a lonely road in Colorado as my shadow appeared on the side of the road. I quickly turned around, backtracked and slung my camera over my shoulder and shot this at 60 miles an hour. Thank you! Patrick Bennett
